PRESS RELEASE-SEWER IMPROVEMENTS AT FAIRGROUNDS

Also called the 2021 Collection System Improvements – Phase 2, three public sewer pump stations are to be replaced, two at either end of Cascade Ave, as well as one near the County Fairgrounds.

The project is funded by a $1.9M Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant, a $620k United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) loan, a $70k USDA grant, and $400k City.

To facilitate a smooth, safe, and efficient project, traffic to the Fairgrounds via the primary entrance road, adjacent to the Hegewald Center, may experience intermittent and short (5 min) delays for the duration of site grading, wetwell decommissioning, and valve vault and sewer pipe installation – scheduled to be completed in April 2024. These delays will occur during contractor work
hours, approximately 7:00a to 5:00p, Monday through Friday.

Traffic may choose to detour via Rock Creek Park Drive.

The project schedule currently shows all pump stations completed in October 2024, and the Fairgrounds Pump Station completed sometime in April.

Thank you to Hegewald Center and Skamania County Fairgrounds employees and visitors for your patience as this project is constructed.
