Recreational Fire Burn Ban Lifted

 

SMALL DEBRIS FIRES WILL CONTINUE TO BE PROHIBITED.

 

The burn ban for recreational fires that are regulated by Skamania County was lifted as of September 16, 2024.

 

Small Debris fires will continue to be prohibited on Skamania County Regulated lands.

BURN BAN EXPANDED

 

Effective 12:00am July 7, 2024

Recreational fires will be banned until further notice

 

Due to current moisture levels, continued hot and dry weather conditions and other fire related factors, the Skamania County Fire Marshal is issuing a ban on all open burning, including recreational fires, at 12:00 am, July 7, 2024.

All open burning on private lands within Skamania County is PROHIBITED, including recreational fires, until further notice.

Small debris fire Burn Ban in Effect

 

Small Debris Burn Permits expired 7/01/24.

 

Small debris burn permits will no longer be valid as of July 1, 2024

Fire danger season is upon us and to keep our community safe the City of Stevenson implements burn restrictions as a tool to reduce human-caused wildfires during extremely hot and dry weather conditions.

All small debris fires that are currently burning must be completely extinguished by 12:00am, Monday July 1, 2024.

Recreational fires meeting the Skamania County Minimum Fire Pit Standards will continue to be permissible inside City Limits, but are subject to immediate closure as we move into fire season.

Small debris fires will continue to be prohibited on  Skamania County regulated lands. 

 

Recreational fires must be in a fire pit meeting the Skamania County minimum fire pit standards per SCC 8.14.050(B). Please be sure recreational fires are completely extinguished before leaving them unattended. Making smart, informed decisions and burning responsibly is the best way to prevent wildfires.

Due to current moisture levels, east winds, continued hot and dry weather conditions and other fire related factors, the Skamania County Fire Marshal is issuing a ban on all open burning, including recreational fires, at 12:01 am, August 13, 2023.

 

All open burning on private lands within Skamania County is PROHIBITED, including recreational fires, until further notice.
