Job Opening - Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I

The City of Stevenson is growing!

The City is making major upgrades to our Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), expanding capacity, which necessitates additional staff. We are now accepting applications for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator level I (WWTPO I). The WWTPO I reports to the WWTPO II to help perform the general operations and maintenance of the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

The Ideal Candidate:

The City of Stevenson is looking for a progressive and creative WWTPO who is motivated to learn and perform all duties associated with wastewater management. The ideal candidate should be able to troubleshoot problems; have collaborative decision-making skills; be independent, self-motivated, and a team player; be energetic and positive with a can-do attitude; and have strong communication and public relations skills.

Experience and Education:

Requires graduation from high school or received a GED or equivalent.  Also requires that you live within thirty (30) minutes response time of the city and have a valid Driver’s License or the ability to acquire within six (6) months. 

Compensation and Benefits:

• Annual Base Salary of $56,843 to $74,802, depending on qualifications and experience, and eligible for overtime pay
