Business Licensing

The City of Stevenson requires all businesses located within the city limits, or who conduct business within the city limits, to be licensed with the city (SMC 5.04). This includes vacation rentals, defined as renting or leasing a dwelling unit for less than 30 consecutive days (SMC 5.20).

In 2017 the Washington State Legislature required all cities to partner with the Department of Revenue for business licensing and renewals (RCW 35.90.020). Stevenson partners with Business Licensing Service for one-stop filing of state and city licensing. This combined licensing system makes it easier to connect state and local requirements in one annual transaction for most businesses.
