Stevenson Shoreline Master Program

Columbia River, Rock Cove, and Rock Creek are important waterbodies in Stevenson. The development, modification, and use of the waters and the lands within 200 feet of their shorelines are controled by the City through the Stevenson Shoreline Master Program. Community members, project proponents, and property owners should look to the 2022 Shoreline Master Program and SMC 18.08 for information on where and how use of shoreline areas can occur.

Those looking to restore ecological functions in shoreline areas should look to the 2018 Shoreline Restoration Plan for ideas. These ideas can be undertaken as restoration for restoration's sake on a voluntary basis, or by project proponents as mitigation for their project's impacts. 

Ultimately this program seeks to halt the net loss of ecological functions. To review the success of this effort, the 2018 Cumulative Impacts Analysis and the 2018 Inventory & Characterization Report provide necessary context.
