Russell Avenue Improvements:

Improvements are currently underway to the lower section of Russell Avenue from Cascade Avenue to Second Street. The project will include road surface, sidewalk, storm water and waterline improvements.

Current Update:

3/27/2020

After much coordination, Russell Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between 1st and 2nd Streets beginning Monday the 30th at 7:00 A.M. The post office drop box has already been moved to the south side of the post office on First Street. Our city website has been updated to help let customers know that it has been moved. The Pioneer will send out a Facebook message as well. Overhead utility crews will be doing preliminary work in order to switch their overhead lines to underground. The switch over will not happen during the next two weeks. The time line for the switchover will be roughly four weeks from now. I am being told that customers will get notices from the respective utility companies ahead of the switchover due to interruptions in service.

During the next two weeks please be prepared for loud noises, vibrations and heavy equipment moving in and around the work area.
As always, feel free to reach out with questions, concerns.
Stay safe,
Karl Russell
