Matthew has served on City Council since 2018, having previously served on the City’s Planning Commission. Matthew and his wife moved to Stevenson at the beginning of 2017, having visited in the past and been drawn to the personality and soul of the area. His background in operations and customer experience analysis has involved him in the many stages of developing and implementing long-term goals for companies, while investigating accountability for resources and decisions. He has led teams in analyzing projects, behaviors, and procedures while finding ways to improve efficiencies and cost savings. Matthew brings to the Council an interest in human and economic development, environmental sustainability, governmental accountability, and operational effectiveness.

Matthew additionally sits on the board for the Skamania County Homeless Housing Council, and continues to attend planning commission meetings.
